The Gospel of John 6:35 reads like this: And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
What a beautiful statement Jesus tells us here. But what does it actually mean? Well, we know that Jesus is not talking about a physical bread. I will explain: LET US PRAY.
We can read Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness; for they shall be filled. A lot of times when the Lord talks about hunger and thirst, he is talking about how the soul thirstiest for righteousness. In the book of Psalms 42:1 reads, As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O Lord. Also in verse 2 My soul thirsteth for God: when shall I come and appear before God?
Also in the book of Isaiah 55:1 reads Come, everyone that thirsteth, come ye to the waters. We know for a fact that God is the only one that can deal with the soul and spirit of man. He can touch and stir up our spirit, he can save us, he can break us and humble us.
Let us read Hebrews 4:12 For the Word of the God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Now man's spirit is the inner part of the human being and like I mentioned, only the Spirit of God can work in our inner being. That's why I have said before that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most powerful force in the world because it is the only one that can change mankind from inside. He changes the heart's intentions, transforms the mind and attitude and the character of man when man surrenders all to him.
The story of the Samaritan women when Jesus met her and we find this in John 4:4-10 when Jesus was in Judea and went back once more to Galilee and he had to go through Samaria. He came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour. Now the story says that a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, will you give me a drink? (his disciples had gone into the town to buy food. The Samaritan women says, why are you asking me for a drink being that you are a Jew and I'm a Samaritan? For Jews do not associate with Samaritans. John 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, if thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. Again we find here that Jesus again is talking about water, and we will find out that this water Jesus is talking about is none other than the Holy Ghost that he will give to all believers. In another place in the Bible, he mentions the Word of God as water but we will talk about this another time.
Once we drink of this water, we will never thirst nor ever hunger. What does the inner spirit thirst for or hunger for? well for one thing he hungers for peace or happiness and again our soul hungers for the righteousness of God. Humanity is not at rest without God. If only they knew, they would eat the bread of life. People today are searching for a remedy to fill their emptiness, every human being has a void inside that searcheth for fulfillment, and they are looking for it in drugs and other pleasures, but they need Jesus on the inside to fill that void. This is where the bread of life comes in, this true bread of life will satisfy your hunger and thirst and that emptiness will be filled.
As you continue listening to my sermons, we will open up many mysteries of the Bible that Jesus wants us to know, and we will see them as they unfold as we read God's Word, ALELUYA!
Jesus said in one of his teachings, search the scriptures for in them you will find eternal life. In Psalms Chapter one verse 2 reads: But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law does he meditate day and night. The Word of God will search you out if you are not right with God. But we must know that not all religions are from God. One scripture in the Bible that helps us to know which religions are true and which are not is the scripture that is found in the book of Matthew 7:20 that reads: Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. So, once we receive his Holy Spirit, he will change us from the inside out, and we can give fruit like the scripture says.
The Bible will let anyone know where they stand before God and the scriptures can examine each and every one of us where we stand before God but like I said, you must receive the gift Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit searcheth hearts and removes all the filth in us. In other words, the Word of God, the Bible, shows us what we are doing wrong, and the Holy Spirit convicts us and he drives out all of our faults and sin. Why don't we examine ourselves today? Let's read the book of Galatians 5:16 This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Now verse 17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now we get to verse 19, this is the verse that I wanted to emphasize more; Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, seditions,(you cause a revolt, civil dissorter, causing riots.
heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, and the like, of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Well, those that will hear my voice, these are only a few scriptures that clearly state the condition people are living not knowing that even though they are religious, their religion has no saving cleansing power, whereby God will reject them in the last day. Joint me as we go through the Bible and learn the Word of God.
It's up to every Pastor, Priest, to teach truth to their congregation. If his congregation doesn't show many fruits of repentance, he needs to examine his ministry. So, if you really want to be saved, you must search the scriptures. The coming of the Lord Jesus is so close there is no time to waste. Wont you take the time and read what I have prepared for you.
PRAY HERE
Thank You and until next time. Jesus loves you and so do I.
